ಈ ದೇಶದ ನಾಲ್ಕು ಸ್ತಂಭಗಳೆಂದು ಕರೆಯಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವ ಶಾಸಕಾಂಗ, ಕಾರ್ಯಾಂಗ, ನ್ಯಾಯಾಂಗ, ಪತ್ರಿಕಾರಂಗಗಳು ಇಂದು ಹಿಂದೆಂದಿಗಿಂತಲೂ ಸುದ್ದಿಯಲ್ಲಿವೆ, ಅದರೆ ಕೆಟ್ಟ ಕಾರಣಗಳಿಗಾಗಿ. ಶಾಸಕಾಂಗ, ಕಾರ್ಯಾಂಗಗಳು ಹಾಗೂ ಅಲ್ಲಿನ ಜನ, ಅಧಿಕಾರಿಗಳು, ರಾಜಕಾರಣಿಗಳು ಒಬ್ಬರಿಗೊಬ್ಬರು ಮಿಲಕಾಯಿಸಿಕೊಂಡು ಭ್ರಷ್ಟಾಚಾರದಲ್ಲಿ, ಜಾತೀಯತೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಹೊಸ ಹೊಸ ಮೈಲಿಗಲ್ಲುಗಳನ್ನು ನೆಟ್ಟು ಈ ದೇಶವನ್ನು ದುರಂತದ ಅಂಚಿಗೆ ತಂದು ನಿಲ್ಲಿಸಿರುವುದು ಸೂರ್ಯ ಸ್ಪಷ್ಟ. ಇವೆರೆಡೂ ರಂಗಗಳು ಸ್ವಾರ್ಥಕ್ಕಾಗಿ, ಸ್ವಜಾತಿ ಬಂಧುಗಳು, ಸ್ನೇಹಿತರುಗಳ ಭೋಗ ಜೀವನಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ನಡೆಸಿದ ಭ್ರಷ್ಟಾಚಾರದ ಕೃತ್ಯಗಳು ಇಂದು ಜನಸಾಮಾನ್ಯರ ಕಣ್ಣಲ್ಲಿ ತಿರಸ್ಕಾರಕ್ಕೆ, ಅಸಹಾಯಕತೆಗೆ ಕಾರಣವಾಗಿವೆ.
ಇದನ್ನು ಸ್ವಚ್ಚಗೊಳಿಸಲು ಸಲುವಾಗಿ ನ್ಯಾಯಾಂಗ ಇಂ
ದು ತೊಡಗಿಕೊಂಡಿರುವ ರೀತಿ ಭವಿಷ್ಯದ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಅಶಾವಾದವನ್ನು ಮೂಡಿಸುತ್ತದೆ ಹಾಗೂ ಅದರ ಕ್ರಿಯಾಶೀಲತೆ ಯ ನಡೆಗಳು ನಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಸದಾಕಾಲ ಎಚ್ಚರದಿಂದ ಇರುವಂತೆ ಮಾಡಿವೆ. ಅಲ್ಲದೆ ನಾವೆಲ್ಲ ಕೇವಲ ಮಾತಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಮನೆ ಕಟ್ಟದೆ ಸ್ವಯಂ ಪ್ರೇರಿತರಾಗಿ ಈ ಎರಡೂ ರಂಗಗಳು ತಂದಿಟ್ಟ ಅನಿಷ್ಟ ಪರಂಪರೆಯ ವಿರುದ್ಧ ಹೋರಾಡಲು ನಮಗೆಲ್ಲ ಒಂದು open space ಕಲ್ಪಿಸಿಕೊಟ್ಟಿದೆ. ಇಂತಹ ಪರಿಸ್ಥಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಪತ್ರಿಕಾರಂಗದ ರೀತಿನೀತಿಗಳು ಕುತೂಹಲಕರವಾಗಿವೆ. ತಾವು ಟೀಕಾತೀತರು ಎನ್ನುವ ಭ್ರಮೆಯಲ್ಲಿಯೇ ವರ್ತಿಸುವ ಇಲ್ಲಿನ ಬಹುಪಾಲು ಮಂದಿ ಪದೇ ಪದೇ ತಮ್ಮ ನೈತಿಕತೆಯ, ಸಂಯಮದ ಲಕ್ಷ್ಮಣರೇಖೆಯನ್ನು ದಾಟುವ ಹುನ್ನಾರಗಳಿಂದಾಗಿ ಇಂದು ಈ ರಂಗದಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಅನೇಕ ರೀತಿಯ ತಲ್ಲಣಗಳಿಗೆ, ತಿರಸ್ಕಾರಗಳಿಗೆ ಕಾರಣರಾಗಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಇದಕ್ಕೆ ನ್ಯಾಯಮೂರ್ತಿ ಖಟ್ಟು ಅವರು ತಮ್ಮದೇ ಆದ ಬೀಸು ಶೈಲಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಹೊಸ ವ್ಯಾಖ್ಯಾನವನ್ನೇ ನೀಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ (ಹಿರಿಯ ಪತ್ರಕರ್ತ ದಿನೇಶ್ ಅಮೀನ್ ಮಟ್ಟು ರವರು ಈ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಅತ್ಯುತ್ತಮವಾಗಿ ಅತ್ಯಂತ ಮಾರ್ಮಿಕವಾಗಿ ಬರೆದಿದ್ದಾರೆ).
ನಮ್ಮ ರಾಜ್ಯದ ಒಂದು ಉದಾಹರಣೆಯನ್ನೇ ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡರೆ ಇಂದು ಇಲ್ಲಿನ ಬಹುಪಾಲು ಮುದ್ರಣ ಹಾಗೂ ದೃಶ್ಯ ಮಾಧ್ಯಮಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ತುಂಬಿಕೊಂಡಿರುವ ಅನೇಕ ಬಲಪಂಥೀಯ ಚಿಂತನೆಯ ಪತ್ರಕರ್ತರು ಪತ್ರಿಕಾ ನೀತಿ ಗಾಳಿಗೆ ತೂರಿ ಈ ಮೂಲಕ ತಮ್ಮದೇ ಆದ ಒಂದು ವಿಷಮಯ ಹಿಡನ್ ಅಜೆಂಡಾವನ್ನು ಹಬ್ಬಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಉದಾಹರಣೆಗೆ ವಿಶ್ವೇಶ್ವರ ಭಟ್ ಎನ್ನುವ ಬೆಂಗಳೂರಿನ ಸುತ್ತಮುತ್ತಲು ಜಗತ್ಪ್ರಸಿದ್ದಿ ಪಡೆದ ಪತ್ರಕರ್ತರು. ತಮ್ಮ ಬಹುಪಾಲು ಸಮಾನಮನಸ್ಕ ಸ್ನೇಹಿತರನ್ನೆಲ್ಲ ಒಟ್ಟುಗೂಡಿಸಿ ಬಸ್ ಮಾಲೀಕರ ಒಡೆತನದಲ್ಲಿ ಹೊರ ಬರುತ್ತಿದ್ದ ವಿಜಯ ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ಎನ್ನುವ ಒಂದು ಅಮಾಯಕ ದಿನಪತ್ರಿಕೆಯನ್ನು ಕಬ್ಜಾ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡು ಕಳೆದ ಏಳೆಂಟು ವರ್ಷಗಳಿಂದ ಅಕ್ಷರದ ಹೆಸರಿನಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆಸಿದ ಅನೈತಿಕತೆ ನಡತೆಗಳು, ದ್ವೇಷಪೂರಿತ ವರದಿಗಳ ಮೂಲಕ ನಮ್ಮ ರಾಜ್ಯದ ಒಂದು ತಲೆಮಾರಿನ ಚಿಂತನೆಯನ್ನು ಅಲ್ಪ ಸಂಖ್ಯಾತರ ವಿರುದ್ಧ ರೂಪಿಸಿದ ರೀತಿ, ಅದರಿಂದಾದ ಅನಾಹುತಗಳು ಬಣ್ಣನೆಗೂ ನಿಲುಕದಷ್ಟಿವೆ.
ತಮ್ಮ ಕೆಲವು ಹಿಡನ್ ಅಜೆಂಡಗಳ ಮೂಲಕ ಪತ್ರಿಕ ರಂಗಕ್ಕೆ ಪ್ರವೇಶಿಸಿದ ಇವರು ಮಾಡಿದ ಮೊದಲ ಕೆಲಸ ದರ ಸಮರವನ್ನು ಹುಟ್ಟು ಹಾಕಿದ್ದು. ಪತ್ರಿಕೆಯೊಂದು ತಾನು ಮಂಡಿಸುವ ವಿಷಯಗಳೊಂದಿಗೆ ಸಾಧ್ಯವಾದಷ್ಟೂ ಸಮಾಜದಲ್ಲಿ ಗುರುತಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವ, ಆ ಮೂಲಕ ತನ್ನ ಪ್ರಸಾರವನ್ನು ಹೆಚ್ಚಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವ ಮೂಲಭೂತ ಸಂಪ್ರದಾಯವನ್ನೇ ಗಾಳಿಗೆ ತೂರಿ ಉತ್ಪಾದನಾ ವೆಚ್ಚಕ್ಕಿಂತಲೂ ಕಡಿಮೆ ದರವನ್ನು ನಿಗದಿಪಡಿಸಿ ಪತ್ರಿಕೆಯ ಪ್ರಸಾರ ಹೆಚ್ಚಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವ ಅನೀತಿ ಸಂಪ್ರದಾಯ ಹುಟ್ಟು ಹಾಕಿದರು. ಇದರಿಂದ ಕಳೆದ 60 ವರ್ಷಗಳಿಂದ ತಮ್ಮ ಪತ್ರಿಕೆಗಳನ್ನು ನಡೆಸಿಕೊಂಡು ಬರುತ್ತಿದ್ದ ಕನ್ನಡದ ಕೆಲವು ಪ್ರಮುಖ ದಿನ ಪತ್ರಿಕೆಗಳು ಆಗ ತತ್ತರಿಸಿದ್ದು ಸರ್ವವಿಧಿತ. ಜಾತೀವಾದಿ, ಕೋಮುವಾದಿ ಚಿಂತನೆಗಳಿಗೆ ಅನುಗುಣವಾಗಿ ಪತ್ರಿಕೆಯನ್ನು ನಡೆಸಿದ ವಿ.ಭಟ್ ರು ನಂತರ ಸಂಘ ಪರಿವಾರದ ಅನೇಕ ಅನಾಹುತ, ಧ್ವಂಸ ಪ್ರವೃತ್ತಿಯ ಅನೀತಿಗಳನ್ನು ಸದರಿ ಪತ್ರಿಕೆಯ ಮೂಲಕ ಇಡೀ ಕೆಟ್ಟ ಪರಂಪರೆಯನ್ನು ಹುಟ್ಟು ಹಾಕಿದರು. ಇದಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಇವರು ಬೆಳಸಿದ ನಕಲಿ ಸಿಂಹಗಳು, ಹುಲಿಗಳು ತಮ್ಮ ಬಾಲಿಶತನವನ್ನೇ ಗಂಭೀರ ಚಿಂತನೆಗಳೆಂದು ಬಿಂಬಿಸಿ, ಪ್ರಗತಿಪರ ಹೋರಾಟಗಾರರ ವಿರುದ್ಧ, ಅಲ್ಪ ಸಂಖ್ಯಾತರ ವಿರುದ್ಧದ ಕಪೋಲ ಕಲ್ಪಿತ ಹಸೀ ಸುಳ್ಳುಗಳನ್ನು ವ್ಯವಸ್ಥಿತವಾಗಿ ಸಮಾಜದಲ್ಲಿ ಬಿತ್ತಲೆತ್ನಿಸಿದರು.
ಇವರ ವ್ಯವಸ್ಥಿತ ಪಿತೂರಿ ಅಷ್ಟೊಂದು ತೀವ್ರವಾಗಿದ್ದರೂ ಕೂಡ ( ಸಾಹಿತಿ ಯು.ಅರ್.ಅನಂತ ಮೂರ್ತಿಯವರ ವಿರುದ್ಧ ಇವರ ಅಪ ಪ್ರಚಾರ ಅತ್ಯಂತ ಕೆಳ ಮಟ್ಟಕ್ಕೆ ತಲುಪಿತ್ತು) ನಮ್ಮ ಕನ್ನಡದ ವೈಚಾರಿಕತೆ, ಪ್ರಗತಿಪರತೆಯ ತಳಪಾಯ ಎಷ್ಟು ಗಟ್ಟಿಯಾಗಿದೆಯೆಂದರೆ ಇವೆಲ್ಲವನ್ನೂ ಮೆಟ್ಟಿನಿಂತಿತು.ಆದರೆ ಈ ಕೂಟ ಒಂದು ಯವ ತಲೆಮಾರನ್ನು ದಿಕ್ಕು ತಪ್ಪಿಸಿದ್ದಂತೂ ನಿಜ. ಇದು ನಮ್ಮಲ್ಲೆರ ಕಣ್ಣೆದುರಿಗೇ ಜರುಗಿದ್ದು ಮಾತ್ರ ನಮಗೆಲ್ಲ ಅತ್ಯಂತ ನೋವುಂಟು ಮಾಡುವ ಸಂಗತಿ.
ಪ್ರಜಾವಾಣಿ, ಕನ್ನಡ ಪ್ರಭ ದಂತಹ ಪತ್ರಿಕೆಗಳು, ತಮ್ಮ ಹಿಂದಿನ ಮೂರ್ನಾಲ್ಕು ತಲೆಮಾರಿನಿಂದ ಅತ್ಯಂತ ನ್ಯಾಯದಿಂದ, ಶ್ರಮದಿಂದ ಕಟ್ಟಿ ಬೆಳೆಸಿದ ಪತ್ರಿಕಾ ರಂಗದ ನೀತಿ ಸಂಪ್ರದಾಯಗಳನ್ನು, ಸೂಕ್ಷ್ಮತೆಗಳನ್ನು,ನೈತಿಕತೆಯನ್ನು, ಸಂಪೂರ್ಣವಾಗಿ ಧ್ವಂಸಗೊಳಿಸುವ ತಮ್ಮ ಕುಕೃತ್ಯದ ಎರಡನೇ ಇನ್ನಿಂಗ್ಸ್ ಅನ್ನು ಈ ಸದರಿ ಪತ್ರಕರ್ತರು ಹಾಗೂ ಅವರ ದುಷ್ಟಕೂಟ ಈಗ ಮತ್ತೊಮ್ಮೆ ಕೇರಳದ ಉದ್ಯಮಿಯ ಹಾಗೂ BJP ರಾಜ್ಯಸಭಾ ಸದಸ್ಯರ ಒಡೆತನದ ಪತ್ರಿಕೆಯನ್ನು ಸೇರಿಕೊಂಡು ಆ ಪತ್ರಿಕೆಯನ್ನೂ ಗಬ್ಬೆಬ್ಬಿಸುತ್ತ ಆ ಮೂಲಕ ನಮ್ಮ ನಾಡಿನ ಹೆಮ್ಮೆಯ ಪತ್ರಿಕೋದ್ಯಮದ ನೈತಿಕತೆಯ ಸೂಕ್ಷ್ಮ ಗೆರೆಯನ್ನು ಅಳಸಿಹಾಕಿ ಇಂದು ಇವರು ಅಕ್ಷರ ದೌರ್ಜ್ಯನ್ಯಗಳನ್ನು ಎಸಗುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
ಜೈಲಿನಿಂದ ಜಾಮೀನಿನ ಮೇಲೆ ಹೊರ ಬಂದಿರುವ ಯಡಿಯೂರಪ್ಪನವರು ಅತ್ಮಾವಲೋಕನ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವ ಅಪೂರ್ವ ಅವಕಾಶಗಳನ್ನೇ ಸ್ವತಃ ಕೈಯಾರೆ ಹಾಳು ಮಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತ, ಮತ್ತೆ ಮತ್ತೆ ಅಂಧಾಧುಂದಿ ರಾಜಕಾರಣದ, ಭಸ್ಮಾಸುರ ಕ್ರುತ್ಯಕ್ಕೆ ಕೈ ಹಾಕಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ತಾವೇ ಬೆಳಸಿದ ಈ ಗಣಿ ಚೋರರಾದ ರೆಡ್ಡಿ ಪಡೆಯನ್ನು ಬಳಸಿಕೊಂಡೇ ಕಳೆದ 3 ವರ್ಷ ಅಧಿಕಾರ ನಡೆಸಿದರು. ಇಲ್ಲಿನ ಸಂಪಲ್ಮೂನಗಳನ್ನು ಲೂಟಿ ಮಾಡಿ ಗಳಿಸಿದ ದುಡ್ಡಿನಿಂದ ಚುನಾವಣೆ ಗೆಲ್ಲುತ್ತಾ,ಆ ಮರೀಚಿಕೆಯನ್ನೇ ಜನರ ತೀರ್ಪು ಎಂದು ತಮ್ಮನ್ನು ತಾವೇ ಮೋಸಗೊಳಿಸುತ್ತ, ನಾಡಿನ ಜನತೆಯನ್ನು ಮರುಳುಗೊಳಿಸಿದ್ದೇವೆ ಎನ್ನುವ ಅತಾರ್ಕಿಕ ಭ್ರಮಾ ಲೋಕದಲ್ಲಿದ್ದಾರೆ ಯಡಿಯೂರಪ್ಪ.
3 ವರ್ಷಗಳ ಕಾಲ ತಾವು ಮುಖ್ಯಮಂತ್ರಿಗಳಾಗಿದ್ದ ಸಂಧರ್ಭದಲ್ಲೂ ಅಲ್ಲಿನ “ಗಣ ರಾಜ್ಯ ಬಳ್ಳಾರಿಯ” ಸರ್ವಾಧಿಕಾರಿಗಳಾದ ರೆಡ್ಡಿಗಳ ಅನುಮತಿಯಿಲ್ಲದೆ ತಾವಾಗಲಿ, ತಮ್ಮ ಸಚಿವ ಸಂಪುಟದ ಸಹೋದ್ಯೋಗಿಗಳಾಗಲಿ ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಕಾಲಿಡಲೂ ಸಾಧ್ಯವಿಲ್ಲದಂತಹ ಪರಿಸ್ಥಿತಿ ಇತ್ತು. ಈಗ ಇದನ್ನು ತಮ್ಮ ಅಸಹ್ಯಯಕರ, ಅನೀತಿ ರಾಜಕಾರಣದ ಮೂಲಕ ಜನತೆಯನ್ನು ಮತ್ತೊಮ್ಮೆ ದಿಕ್ಕು ತಪ್ಪಿಸಬಹುದೆನ್ನುವ ಭ್ರಮೆಯಲ್ಲಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಒಬ್ಬ ಯಜಮಾನನ ಅಡಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆಯುವ ಅನ್ಯಾಯಗಳು, ಅತ್ಯಾಚಾರಗಳು, ದಬ್ಬಾಳಿಕೆಗಳಿಗೆ ಅದನ್ನು ನಡೆಸುವವರೆಷ್ಟು ಕಾರಣವೋ, ಅವರ ಅಧಿಪತಿಯೆನಿಸಿಕೊಂಡ ಯಜಮಾನ ಕೂಡ ಅಷ್ಟೇ ಜವಾಬ್ದಾರನಾಗುತ್ತಾನೆ ಎನ್ನುವುದು ಈ ನೆಲದ ನ್ಯಾಯ.
ನನ್ನ ಪ್ರಕಾರ ಅವರ ಡಿನೋಟಿಫ಼ಿಕೇಶನ್ ಹಗರಣಗಳಿಗಿಂತಲೂ ಅತ್ಯಂತ ಭ್ರಷ್ಟ ಹಗರಣ ಬಳ್ಳಾರಿಯ ದುರಂತ. ಇದರಿಂದ ಯಡಿಯೂರಪ್ಪನವರು ಎಷ್ಟೇ ತಲೆ ಕಳಗು ಮಾಡಿದರೂ ತಪ್ಪಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳಲಾರರು. ಈ ಪತ್ರಕರ್ತರು ಇದನ್ನು ತಮ್ಮೆಲ್ಲ ಜ್ನಾನವನ್ನು, ಅನುಭವವನ್ನು ಬಳಸಿ, ಪ್ರಾಮಾಣಿಕ ರಾಜಕೀಯ ವಿಶ್ಲೇಷಣೆಯ ಮೂಲಕ ಜನತೆಗೆ ವಸ್ತುಸ್ಥಿತಿಯನ್ನು ತೋರಿಸಿಕೊಡಬಹುದಿತ್ತು. ಆದರೆ ಇವರು ಮಾಡಿದ್ದೇನು ? ಇವರದೇ ಬಳಗಕ್ಕೆ ಸೇರಿದ ಟಿವಿ ಛಾನಲ್ ನ -ಸಂಯೋಗದೊಂದಿಗೆ ಈ ದುಷ್ಟಕೂಟ ಪತ್ರಿಕಾ ನೀತಿ ಸಂಹಿತೆಗಳನ್ನು ಗಾಳಿಗೆ ತೂರಿ ಈ ರಾಜ್ಯದ ನೆಲವನ್ನು ಲೂಟಿ ಮಾಡಿದ ಭ್ರಷ್ಟಚಾರದ ಅಪಾದನೆಗೊಳಗಾಗಿರುವ ಯಡಿಯೂರಪ್ಪನವರನ್ನು ದುರಂತ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಿಯಂತೆ ಏನೋ ಸಣ್ಣ ತಪ್ಪು ಮಾಡಿದ್ದಾರಷ್ಟೇ ಎನ್ನುವಂತೆ ಬಿಂಬಿಸುವುದು, ಸಂತೋಷ ಹೆಗ್ಡೆ ಅವರ ವಿರುದ್ಧ ನಡೆಸುತ್ತಿರುವ ಪ್ರತೀಕಾರದ ಅಪಪ್ರಚಾರ,… ಇದಕ್ಕೆ ಯಡಿಯೂರಪ್ಪನವರನ್ನುdefault ಆಗಿ ಬಳಸಿಕ್ಕೊಳುತ್ತಿರುವ ರೀತಿ ಆ ಮೂಲಕ ರಾಜ್ಯದ ಹೆಮ್ಮೆಯ ಲೋಕಾಯುಕ್ತ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಯನ್ನು ಸಂಪೂರ್ಣ ದಿಕ್ಕು ತಪ್ಪಿಸಿ ನಿಶ್ಯಕ್ತಗೊಳಿಸುವುದು, ತಮ್ಮ ದುಷ್ಟ ಕೃತ್ಯಗಳಿಗೆ ತೊಡರುಗಾಲು ಹಾಕಿದವರ ವಿರುದ್ಧ ನಡೆಸುವ ಅಪಪ್ರಚಾರಗಳು ಹಾಗೂ ತಮ್ಮ ಈ ಯಾವುದೇ ಲಂಗು ಲಗಾಮಿಲ್ಲದ ಭ್ರಷ್ಟ ನಡವಳಿಕೆಗಳಿಂದ, ತತ್ವರಹಿತ ಕೆಲಸಗಳಿಂದ ಈ ರಾಜ್ಯದ ಪ್ರಜ್ಞಾವಂತರ conscious ಗೆ ಒಂದು ಸವಾಲನ್ನು ಎಸೆದಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
ಇದನ್ನು ನೋಡಿ ನಾವೆಲ್ಲ ಕಣ್ಣು ಮುಚ್ಚಿಕೊಂಡು ಸುಮ್ಮನೆ ಗೊಣಗುತ್ತಿರುವುದು ನಿಜಕ್ಕೂ ಒಂದು ದುರಂತವೇ ಸರಿ. ಏಕೆ ಇವರಿಗೆಲ್ಲ ಕಡಿವಾಣ ಹಾಕದಷ್ಟು ನಾವೆಲ್ಲ ನಿತ್ರಾಣರಾಗಿದ್ದೇವೆಯೇ ?? ನಾವೆಲ್ಲ ಈ ಬಾರಿಯೂ ಜಾಣ ಮೌನವಹಿಸಿದ್ದೇ ಆದರೆ ನಮ್ಮ ಕಣ್ಣೆದುರಿಗೇ ಮತ್ತೊಂದು ತಲೆಮಾರನ್ನು ಕಳೆದುಕೊಳ್ಳಬೇಕಾಗುತ್ತದೆ. ಶಂಕರ್ ಹೇಳಿದಂತೆ ಈಗಾಗಲೇ “ಇಲ್ಲಿ ಅಳುವವರು ಯಾರೂ ಇಲ್ಲ”
ಆರೋಪಿಯಾಗಿ ನ್ಯಾಯಾಲಯದ ಮುಂದೆ ಹಲವಾರು ಪ್ರಕರಣಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ನಿಂತಿರುವ ಯಡಿಯೂರಪ್ಪನವರನ್ನು ಸಮರ್ಥಿಸುವ ರೀತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಸುವರ್ಣ ನ್ಯೂಸ್ ಎಂಬ ಭಾ.ಜ.ಪ. ಸಂಸದರ ಒಡೆತನದ ವಾಹಿನಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಸಂದರ್ಶನವೊಂದು ಇತ್ತೀಚಿಗೆ ಎರಡು ಸಲ ಪ್ರಸಾರವಾಗಿರುವುದು ನಮ್ಮ ಮಾಧ್ಯಮ ತಲುಪಿದ ನೈತಿಕ ಅಧ:ಪತನವನ್ನು ತೋರಿಸುತ್ತದೆ. ಈ ಸಂದರ್ಶನದಲ್ಲಿ ಮೂರು ಜನ ಸಂದರ್ಶಕರು ಇದ್ದದ್ದು ಇನ್ನೊಂದು ವಿಚಿತ್ರವಾಗಿತ್ತು. ಇಂಥ ವಿಕಾರಗಳ ವಿರುದ್ಧ ಹೋರಾಡುವ ಯಾವುದೇ ದಾರಿ ಇಲ್ಲ. ಇಂಥ ಸಂದರ್ಭಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಜನಸಾಮಾನ್ಯರ ವಿವೇಕ ಪ್ರಜ್ಞೆ ಕೆಲಸ ಮಾಡಬೇಕು. ಆರೋಪ ಮುಕ್ತರಾಗದೆ ಒಬ್ಬ ಭ್ರಷ್ಟಾಚಾರದ ಆರೋಪ ಹೊತ್ತ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಿಯನ್ನು ಮಹಾ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಿಯಂತೆ ಬಿಂಬಿಸುವುದು ಮತ್ತು ಇಂಥ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದಲ್ಲಿ ಖ್ಯಾತ ಪತ್ರಕರ್ತರು ಭಾಗವಹಿಸಿರುವುದು ನೋಡುಗರಿಗೇ ಮುಜುಗರ ತರಿಸುವಂತಿತ್ತು. ಇದೇ ವಾಹಿನಿಯು ಅಣ್ಣಾ ಹಜಾರೆಯವರು ಲೋಕಪಾಲ ಮಸೂದೆಗಾಗಿ ನಡೆಸಿದ ಹೋರಾಟವನ್ನು ಬೆಂಬಲಿಸಿ ಭಾರೀ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮಗಳನ್ನು ಪ್ರಸಾರ ಮಾಡಿದುದು ಒಂದು ತೋರಿಕೆ ಎಂಬ ಭಾವನೆ ಜನರಲ್ಲಿ ಬರುವಂತೆ ಆಗಿದೆ.
Very good write up. We should be openly criticize these thugs. No news or electronic media is dare to speak or write about Kannada Prabha Editor and his associates. Who are in a way creating a very disturbed environment.
Rajiv Chandrashekar talk very much about corruption but he is mum about the kind of intellectual barbarism that has been happening in his own backyard. Hope this article will open up the discussion against corrupt practices of Kannada Prabha Newspaper and Suvarna News channel.

Open letter to Mr. Rajiv Chandrashekar, Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha)
Dear Mr. Rajiv Chandrashekar
When you have acquired (Jupiter Media & Entertainment Ventures) the Kannada Prabha Newspaper and Suvarna News 24×7 in 2011. I was so happy that and hoped that you would give new direction to Kannada media world. Your vociferous support for the Anna and his teams anti corruption movement also created hope in all of us that through this channel as you have put it in your blog you create “awakened, aware, active informed and determined citizens”. But the happenings at the both in the Kannada Prabha and Suvarana News Channel are very disturbing. If you have not aware of these developments, I would like to bring one or two incidents which are very disturbing and a serious threat for ethical journalistic practices.
When the former Lokayauktha of Karnataka and core committee member of Team Anna Justice Santhosh Hegde submitted his illegal mining report on 27th of July 2008 he named some of the journalists who have go financial benefits from the Reddy brothers of Bellary illegal mining scam. The name of V.Bhat has also featured in the illegal mining report. It was not established that whether the V. Bhat was the same Vishweshwar Bhat of Kannada Prabha or not. However there was a strong speculation across media fraternity that it was indeed Vishweshwar Bhat. Even Justice Santhosh Hegde requested an enquiry to establish the authenticity of the name of the journalists who have named in the illegal mining scam.
I would also bring to your kind notice that when Mr. Vishweshar Bhat has been fired from the Times Group. There was news that Times Group has collected evidence of accumulating huge amount of money by Mr. Vishweshwar Bhat through unknown sources which has been used to construct his house in Bangalore. I don’t know whether are you aware of this news. Let us not give much attention for these sorts of news, which are not proved and just on air as speculations.
But the real disturbing thing is that how the Kannada Prabha and Suvarna news channel has been able tarnish the image of Karnataka Lokayuktha and its former head Justice Santhosh Hegde and help Mr. Yeddyurappa to claim his innocence even though the law of the land has not acquitted him in land de-notification scam through the Suvarna News.
First Kannada Prabha has published an interview given by the Former Superintend of Police of Karnataka Lokayuktha Mr. Madhukar Shetty to elegantly target Karnataka Lokayuktha and its former head Justice Santhosh Hegde who was responsible for unearthing the rampant illegal mining in Ballery which subsequently ousted the Mr. Yeddyurappa from the Chief ministership. After publishing this interview in Kannada Prabha, immediately there was a discussion about the corrupt practices in Karnataka Lokayuktha in Suvarna news channel. After few days three TV news anchors in Survana Channel interviewed former Chief Minister Mr. Yeddyurappa and allowed him to speak against the Lokayuktha and prove his innocence in illegal mining and land de-notification scam. What all these incidents or happenings at the Kannada Prabha and Suvarna News channel indicating his that these are well planned propaganda against Mr. Santhosh Hegde to defame him and divert the attention of people from illegal mining report and de-notification scam in which Mr. Yeddyurappa and other his colleagues are involved.
There are ample prime facie evidences that Mr. Yeddyurappa and other his colleagues are involved in illegal mining and de-notification land scam. Many of the cases as you know are pending in courts. Before the land of the law acquitted him from all these scams, your News paper and TV channel has allowed him to claim the innocence.
One of the news editors in Kannada Prabha always fond of writing against minorities and try to incite communal hatred through his editorials and never spare those who legitimately criticize him. This is not the kind of ethical journalistic practices that I expected from the editor of Kannada Prabha and Suvarana News 24×7. If you have not come across these sorts of intellectual degradation, I kindly request you to observe and see how these people in your news paper and news channel are downgrading the forth pillar of our democracy.
I have to write all these to you just because I have heard and seen in the media your vociferous support for anti-corruption movement and your liberal mind set.

ಪ್ರಗತಿಶೀಲ ವಿಚಾರಗಳಿಗೆ ಧ್ವನಿಯಾಗುವ ಒಂದೇ ಒಂದು ಟಿವಿ ವಾಹಿನಿ ಕನ್ನಡ ಭಾಷೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಇಲ್ಲ. ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ಯಾಕೆ ಇಷ್ಟು ಬರಡಾಗಿದೆ ಈ ವಿಚಾರದಲ್ಲಿ ಎಂಬುದನ್ನು ಯೋಚಿಸಬೇಕಾಗಿದೆ. ಕರ್ನಾಟಕದಲ್ಲಿ ಇಷ್ಟೆಲ್ಲಾ ಉದ್ಯಮಿಗಳಿದ್ದರೂ ಯಾವ ಉದ್ಯಮಿಯೂ ಒಂದು ಪ್ರಗತಿಶೀಲ ವಿಚಾರಧಾರೆಯನ್ನು ಬೆಂಬಲಿಸುವ ಟಿವಿ ವಾಹಿನಿಯನ್ನು ಕನ್ನಡದಲ್ಲಿ ಕಟ್ಟಲು ಸಾಧ್ಯವಾಗಿಲ್ಲದೆ ಇರುವುದು ಶೋಚನೀಯ. ಬಸವಣ್ಣನಂಥ ಪ್ರಗತಿಶೀಲರು ೧೨ ನೆಯ ಶತಮಾನದಲ್ಲೇ ಕನ್ನಡ ನೆಲದಲ್ಲಿ ಹುಟ್ಟಿ ತಮ್ಮ ವಿಚಾರಗಳಿಂದ ಕರ್ನಾಟಕವನ್ನು ಮುನ್ನಡೆಸಿದ ಇತಿಹಾಸವಿದ್ದರೂ ಇಂದು ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ಪ್ರಗತಿಶೀಲ ಕನ್ನಡ ಟಿವಿ ವಾಹಿನಿಯೊಂದು ಇಲ್ಲದೆ ಇರುವುದರಿಂದಾಗಿ ಹಿನ್ನಡೆಗೆ ಜಾರುತ್ತಿದೆ. ಇದನ್ನು ಸರಿಪಡಿಸಲು ಕನ್ನಡದ ಎಲ್ಲ ಪ್ರಗತಿಶೀಲ ಸಾಹಿತಿಗಳು, ಚಿಂತಕರು, ಸಂಘಟನೆಗಳು, ಪ್ರಗತಿಶೀಲತೆ ಯೆಡೆಗೆ ಆಸಕ್ತಿಯುಳ್ಳ ಸಮಾನಮನಸ್ಕ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಿಗಳು ಚಿಂತಿಸಬೇಕಾಗಿದೆ.
You may attribute anything to Mr Bhat. But we cannot credithim with starting the price war for vijaya karnataka. The idea was entirely of the owner Mr Vijay Sankeshwaar. He is basically a business and knows the art of building up business. It would not be fair to accuse Bhat of the sins he has not committed = Mathihalli Madan MOhan .
I am afraid, why a senior journalist Madan Mohan is worried about the ‘lesser sin’ credited to V.Bhat, leaving other serious crimes raised against V.Bhat. Like me thousands of people respect Madan Mohan as a honest journalist. But why don’t you show honesty to criticise what you see everyday on Suvarna TV & Kannada Prabha.
As a senior political reporter I have no doubt you have observed changes in Kannada Prabha and Suvarna News and analysed the true reason for such changes. When the focus of the letter (to Rajiv) is to draw Rajiv’s attention to allegations of corruption, misuse of office, giving biased news, why do you restrict your comment only to one sentence. This is not expected from a senior journalist like you, sir.
